Where does one find the words to describe the appreciation for someone who has given so much? Jade Creek Arabians would have had a completely different trajectory had you not been apart of our journey from the very beginning. You have never wavered in your commitment, or your values, through wind, rain, snow, or scorching desert sun.

You were there when our most beloved friends were born on the farm and remained by their side as twenty plus years passed only to hold them even closer during the most painful hours that we call the circle of life. You are a true friend, a true horseman, and a fine man of integrity and honour. Your innate talents as a first-class caretaker of the Jade Creek horses have always set you apart and your natural talents as a trainer have catapulted you to where you are today. From our early beginnings in Santa Ynez, to our move north to Oregon – and then to Scottsdale — you have continued to climb the ladder within the Arabian horse industry being recognized for your talents, your kindness, and your integrity.

You have assisted us, and taken our horses, to so many special and meaningful wins in the showring – from the beaches of Santa Barbara, to the Las Vegas bright lights, and the desert sands of Scottsdale — and quite literally everywhere else.

We salute and thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for your twenty plus years dedication to Jade Creek Arabians. You will always be apart of our family and we will always be your biggest supporter. We wish you so much happiness and success as you begin your new journey with Orrion Farms, as we know full well the stars continue to be the limit… you reached for them — now keep going!

Congratulations to the Comolli Family on the great success of Jimmy Choo JCA – Isobel Comolli and Jimmy Choo JCA were the 2021 Youth National Reserve Champions in Western Pleasure JOTR 14 & Under among many, many other notable awards. A life well lived and well lived to the fullest. The prince of Jade Creek, Brandon Bey JCA+, born April 17, 2001, peacefully laid to rest on November 11th after a tremendously fulfilling life here at Manny Lawrence’s Jade Creek Arabians. Born on our farm in Santa Ynez, California – Brandon’s journey into our life and into our hearts started even before his birth. Brandon’s dam Hushahby Bey had the entire Santa Barbara showgrounds abuzz after she had just won the Cal Bred futurity filly championship. Although Manny didn’t see the class, when Jim Lowe took Manny back to the barn and Hushahby Bey stuck her head out of the stall, Manny was smitten. Manny knew instantly that he had to have her and struck a deal, bringing the future Bey Shah brood matron home to Jade Creek Arabians.

Sired by the great Versace, Brandon Bey JCA was born with a genetic powerhouse blending in Hushahby’s Bey Shah and *Aladdinn blood. Perhaps though, aside from Brandon’s prowess of a breeding stallion and stellar show record — it was his quirky and unpredictable sensitive character that set Brandon apart from the rest.

Brandon Bey was the favorite of Manny’s better half, Lori Morss—the two quite connected – so connected that Brandon would nicker hearing the sound of her voice. Brandon’s harem Zonda JCA and Nina Rici JCA shared duties keeping Brandon company side-by-side in the barn and during turnout each day.

Sharing the breeding duties with stable mate Jake Jamaal JCA was no easy task — but Brandon never disappointed. He sired countless winners in halter and performance – many times a leading sire in the prestigious Scottsdale Signature Stallion futurity program. His son’s and daughters exported around the world influencing breeding programs globally, forging wonderful friendships, all while bringing joy and success to many.

Brandon Bey JCA and Manny shared a tremendous bond and a special friendship – together capturing many special titles in the show ring; a multitude of Regional Championships and highlight wins as both 2005 Canadian National Champion Stallion AAOTH and 2005 U.S. National Champion Stallion AAOTH.

While our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beloved Brandon Bey JCA, we find comfort knowing that waiting in the wings is a very special colt who we are so excited to share with the world — One and Only JCA, sired by the Brandon Bey JCA son Illuminati JCA — gives us hope and encouragement for the future — and while filling grandaddy Brandon’s shoes will be no easy task — we’re excited and so very fortunate we have this exceptional colt to carry on Brandon’s legacy for death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

Remembering sweet Josephine JCA

Our greatest joy is breeding and raising beautiful, loving Arabian horses — horses who become part of our everyday life, part of our family. Born to Jade Creek Arabians in March of 2007, Josephine JCA was the first born of two-time U.S. National Champion El Milenio whom Manny purchased shortly after his United States Yearling National Championship win. Josephine’s dam, our beloved bred and owned Jacline Jamal JCA who herself has created a dynasty all of her own here at Jade Creek, including being the dam of our sweet Josephine.

Josephine JCA was the quintessential Jade Creek Arabian — so very beautiful and equally as athletic. As a yearling, she achieved top honours in yearling halter competition and blossomed into the most exceptional performance mare; Region 1 Reserve Champion Hunter Pleasure Junior Horse, United States National Top Ten Hunter Pleasure Futurity, and Scottsdale Top Ten Hunter Pleasure Junior Horse under the guidance of trainer Ali Brady to name but a few of Josephine’s many accomplishments.

Aside from the show ring, Josephine JCA was so very loved here at the farm with her sweet personality and kind disposition. She is survived by all who loved her here at Jade Creek, including her dearest pasture friend Pygmy goat Delilah. One of the most difficult parts of breeding and raising horses is that they just don’t live long enough — God speed sweet Josephine.
